Artist Devo: Faith (Braille)

braille-sidevochristianhiphoprapdevotionalHebrews 11:6 – “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

It is impossible to please God without faith. In any area of our lives where we lean on our own understanding, we are not pleasing God. Our lives are so much more powerful when we truly believe that God will respond and partner with us in our efforts. Faith is one of those words that can easily loose its meaning in our Christian walk. We hear the word so many times because it goes hand in hand who we are – we are people of faith. The Bible makes many profound statements about faith. Think about literally moving mountains with faith the size of a mustard seed. But the bible also says that faith without works is dead. It’s one thing to say we believe something, but the true test is to live our lives as if we really believe it’s true.

I’ve always tried to approach Gods word with child like faith. I’m not a scholar and I’m not even a good reader but there are passages from the bible that are written on my heart. I believe them wholeheartedly and I live my life with complete confidence that the word of God is true. I’ve been in many situations during my life that seemed impossible but instead of accepting the “reality”, I approached the issues with faith and God has always responded. I could list countless testimonies but the true purpose of this devotion is to encourage everyone to trust God with his word.

In every area of our lives, we can speak scripture over our situations and know that God will be actively involved. Why try to accomplish anything alone when you have the option of doing it with God? Sometimes because we can’t see God, we don’t realize how involved he is. I’m sure God has performed many miracles in my own life that I didn’t even notice. It takes faith for us to simply believe that God is involved with our lives and that everything we work towards will be more successful when we bring it before God first.
