breathecast.com is reporting that Five-time Dove Award-winning, two-time Grammy nominated rap duo Grits is celebrating the successful launch of its new label, Revolution Art. Making its debut on the Christian music scene last fall, Revolution Art has quickly become the buzzword among industry circles.

The brainchild of Teron”Bonafide” Carter and Stacy”Coffee” Jones along with business partner Mo Henderson, Revolution Art, according to its mission statement, aims to…

“usher in the next generation of artists, musicians and executives, reaching beyond standard formulas to change the landscape of music and redefine a culture.”

The new label put this mission into motion with its first release, GRITS’ new project “Reiterate”, last September. Revolution Art will continue to operate under its boundary-breaking philosophy with the release of projects by new artists Stefan the Scientist and female phenom Jade Harrell this year. In the meantime, the label is backed by industry wide support, including former label home Gotee Records. Joey Elwood, president of Gotee and longtime friend of the duo said…

“My hope is Grits becomes part of the new wave of leadership in this industry. Nothing would make me happier for them than to see the future being developed by their thoughts and ideas. They’ve been shaping the future as artists for some time; now it’s time for them to take the next step, and I know they will do it.”

His partner at Gotee is none other than tobyMac who had this to say…

“Grits has changed the face of positive and spiritual hip-hop. They are relevant and have a knack for discovering talent that stretches our industry to places I love seeing it go.”
