I Am Praying

Prayer=200Imagine for a second that a prisoner is planning to murder someone as soon as he is released back into society. One day he receives a bag containing hundreds of letters telling him about Christ’s love, that God Himself has a plan for this prisoner’s life. Do you think those letters might lead the prisoner to cancel his plans. Maybe, letters to prisoners have been used for years to encourage and reveal God’s love to them.

Now imagine that instead of hundreds of letters, the prisoner was shown a website containing hundreds of videos from Christians praying for him. What affect do you think that would have? The same level or more?

Consider this:

The videos would show each persons face who’s praying for him, creating a personal connection.

The prisoner could hear the distinct voice and emotions of the person praying.

Even if the prisoner is illiterate he will still understand the prayers.

He can go back to the site and replay those prayer videos, without fear of losing them.

Minutes after someone prays for him, he can receive the video instead of having to wait days for it to reach in the mail.

Prayer videos might be an improvement on letters huh?

Now imagine if not only that prisoner but all the prisoners, the sick, the shut ins, the depressed, the grieving, the lonely, the rape victims, the jobless, and simply those in need of Christ received hundreds or even thousands of prayer videos created specifically for them. Do you think this might change the outlook of one country or maybe the world?

Noel Browne thinks so. Therefore on November 24, 2009, he uploaded his first four prayers to the website “Iampraying.ning.com” as well as his you tube channel “iampraying247.” The topics covered the Bahamas, president Obama, the Holy Spirit and global recession victims. Almost everyday since he’s uploaded videos for prayers on Bahamian issues, Global Issues, Spiritual Needs, Prayers for Celebrities, Daily Blessings and Daily Thanksgiving.. At present over 62 videos have been uploaded to the Internet.

On Sunday, November 29, 2009, Four police officers were killed in Lakewood Washington. Noel prayed for the victims as well as the shooter and uploaded the video to the web at 12:05 November 30. At the writing of this letter on Wednesday December 2, 2009, the video has been viewed over 435 times on You Tube. That might not seem like a lot for You Tube but consider that this occurred on a virtually new account with no subscriber base. The views came from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, the Bahamas, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Now imagine if there were 100 other prayer videos for these officers. Imagine if all of these prayers could be found on one page under Iampraying.ning.com. You’re probably seeing why they say “more prayer more power.”

While Noel Browne will continue to create prayer videos, the blessings that can result from these videos will never be realized as long as he is the only one praying. If the project received the support of the millions of Christians world wide or just the thousands in the Bahamas the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 would become a reality.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. “

It’s time to pray.
