DMX aka #P639005

DMX was forced to change his name earlier this week to #P639005 – his booking number at the Maricopa County Jail in Arizona.

Jail Records indicate Earl Simmons was booked into custody on March 9^th, 2010 on four (4) Felony counts of Probation Violation and one (1) Misdemeanor count of Probation Violation. Sheriff Joe Arpaio (the same kat who makes inmates sport PINK boxers with their black and white striped uniform) stated X violated the terms of his parole by admitting to using cocaine. In Arizona alone, he’s faced charges in the past for Drug Possession, Attempted Aggravated Assault and Animal Cruelty, among other things.

The arrest comes just days after he was scheduled to perform at a “Gospel Rap Extravaganza”, for free. The event was scheduled to take place at an Arizona high school, but was shut down just days before the event date. The high school issued a statement indicating the venue was simply too large for their facilities. Morning Star Sanctified Church in Glendale, Arizona, who was set to host the extravaganza, has plans to reschedule the event and will issue refunds to those who have already purchased tickets. X was planning on performing tracks from his upcoming gospel album…

So the question becomes, if X drops a gospel album, would you support it?
