I was born in the belly and smelly waters of Boston Where calibers cock back, and cowards kill often pops sped off, leaving moms some misfortune. Our dough was running low, three kids were now orphaned we had to struggle in the city, where the sinners never slept many nights we went to bed with our pillows still wet! -DIRECT

These opening lines give you a glimpse into the life and testimony of DIRECT. He has overcome many obstacles on his road to success. After losing countless friends and family to the streets, DIRECTs only options were to either become a statistic or to find a way of escape. He made a choice to break away from the adversity. Therefore, at the young age of 19, Direct invited Jesus into his heart. Since then, he has never looked back. Armed with a gift and passion for writing and creative word-play, Direct learned how to use his talent to speak life to dying world. Through this gift, Direct has penned several poems and musical works on a professional level. His works include; The Verbal Witness Controversy Album, “The Above Ground Compilation”, The “Beginning EP”, and “The Mass Ministry Mix tape”. He has completed a full length project that will be released in early 2010.

Directs unique gift has opened the door for him to share the stage with these gospel greats:

He has also been blessed with the opportunity to perform at some of Gospels premiere conferences and festivals such as Rap fest in New York City, Holy Hip-Hop Awards, Winter Fest, and Bobby Jones Gospels New Artist Showcase. In addition to performing on a national level, DIRECT has participated in countless church events and functions all over the Northeast. DIRECT has also devoted his life to building and establishing businesses and ministries that bring glory to the kingdom agenda. DIRECTs latest endeavors include developing his own independent gospel label – Revival Music Group and D.E.T.O.U.R. young adult ministry. DIRECTs heart’s desire is to see all people, who are affected by life issues, introduced to a God who cares and loves them. DIRECT currently resides in Massachusetts. He is happily married to his wife Lanisha, with two boys, and a beautiful new baby girl.
