Urban Youth Workers Institute West Coast Conference 2010

PASADENA, Cali. – You have a desire to evangelize to the youth, but have you ever been offered formal training with an urban focus? If not, then the offer is on the table.

On May 13-15, The Urban Youth Workers Institute will be hosting its 2010 West Coast Conference at the First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena (PazNaz). Sure to bring out the masses, this year’s speakers include Larry Acosta (President of UYWI), Tommy Kyllonen (Urban D), Dr. John Perkins, Lina Thompson, Sergio De La Mora, Albert Tate, Charles Lee, Jackie Gichohi, Susie Kook and Noel Castellanos. Featured artists are set to include Lecrae, Odd Thomas, DJ Promote, Propaganda and Theory Hazit, among others.

The conference boasts sixty-four workshops (including the CCDA Workshops). “From Jay-Z to Jesus”, “Urban Arts Outreach: Using Words, Flares, Scratches, & Cans to Engage Youth” and “Ministry & the Spoken Word Art” are just a few workshop titles you’ll see. A full line-up of the workshops can be found here. It’s not all just classroom instruction though…you’ll have scheduled time for loungin’, hoops, salsa dancing, an outdoor movie & coffee bar, Zumba (whatever that is) and team building.

Registration fees (online and at the door) are currently $99. Hit up the UYWI West Coast Conference Brochure for more information.
