You have been taught the Holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong and teaches us to do what is right.  God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.

2 Timothy 3:15-17

For a long time, I didn’t understand how and why the Bible existed.  I knew it was from God but who really wrote it?  Well, getting into the Holy Scriptures helped me understand all these things that I questioned.

God’s Word was given to keep me in line and on track with what He has planned for my life.  That seems like it’s easier to say than it was to apply or abide by.  In all honesty, that’s very true because our flesh does not want to give into the Lordship of Jesus Christ. But the only way to receive from God is to give to God everything you have to offer.

Giving God your time by studying His Word is vital in this walk with Christ.  This is how we learn the benefits of a life in God.  There is no other way you can better equip yourself for the work that God has planned for your life.  In a world that has no desire for discipline, God has provided a way of structure through the scriptures.  That’s why it’s called Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

Is it possible to please God and live a Christ-like life without the guidance of the Holy Spirit through God’s Word?  No!  It’s much more than going to church or to an accountability group.  Getting into the Word on your on is the key for a strong relationship with Christ.  Think about it, it’s His Love Letter to you.
