Phanatik of CMR and shai linne featured on Disciple (D.I.) new album

Boston, MA – May 17, 2010 – Hope Recordz will release Disciple’s (D.I.) highly anticipated project “The Freedom LP” on June 15, 2010 to major digital retail outlets (iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Emusic etc).

The Freedom LP is inspired by Romans 6:14: “For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.” Disciple explains, “The concept of this album is freedom and how the truest sense of freedom is only experienced through Jesus Christ. The feeling of a lack of freedom is what sparked the idea for this album.” Disciple, also known as D.I. shares the purpose for the project, “I find this thought to be liberating and able to evoke the feeling of freedom. The album was created to musically and biblically explain the true meaning of freedom.”

The lead single from The Freedom LP produced by C.Kret is Free. Free, a radio-friendly record with mass commercial appeal without compromising the true authenticity of the song. The Freedom LP features guest appearances by: Phanatik of The Crossmovement, shai linne, Mingo and Epinero. Production is handled by: Disciple (D.I.), Epinero, Spit Jones, MPC, Rudament, DuceP and C.Kret.

Disciple’s third album, The Freedom LP, was recorded in Worcester, Massachusetts with producers Epinero and Mingo. In addition to releasing the project on June 15, 2010, D.I. will be touring the northeast in support of the album.

Disciple (D.I.), born Marc Auguste in Port-A-Prince, Haiti, Disciple (D.I.) grew up in church and was raised in a Christian environment. Most of his family members knew Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, but Disciple spent most of his life questioning if there really was a God. At the age of three, Disciple and his family moved from Haiti and came to the United States of America. His mother worked as a secretary and was also a women’s seamstress at the time. Disciple’s father was a DJ of traditional Haitian music and worked full time as a taxi driver. Together, they provided a stable environment for him and his younger sister. Disciple spent most of his childhood years going to school and having fun. He was in church with the rest of his family almost every Sunday and even though he grew up in church, he never really had a real relationship with Jesus Christ as a child.

Disciple later attended a youth retreat in New Hampshire and accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. Two weeks after his encounter with Christ, he prayed for a unique gift that would allow him to minister to others. The next day Disciple wrote his first verse and realized that it was rap. His cousin and best friend was a Christian rapper at the time so Disciple told him about his new found desire to preach the Gospel through rap music. When he heard Disciple rhyme for the first time, he was so impressed that he allowed Disciple to rap at some upcoming events. The first time that Disciple took the stage to rap and provide the ministry that God had intended for him, the crowd loved it! That was the night that Disciple was born.
