Over 40 artists to unite in Nashville, TN for the Hip Hop Hope Unity Conference & City Takers Tour
On February 4th in Nashville, TN, a combination of ministries and online media outlets introduce the Hip Hop Hope Unity Conference and City Takers Tour.
In 2012, Hip Hop Hope Missions and Freestyle Missions teamed up with DaSouth.com to launch this joint effort that exists to unite Christian hip hop artists with a missional purpose. DaSouth.com reached out to HolyCulture.net towards the end of last year and put together a unity conference in Chicago, IL, where about 30 artists attended. In January, WestCoastFiya.com became a partner.
With over 40 signed up to attend the Hip Hop Hope Unity Conference workshops, it will set a great standard for the rest of the areas that the tour will stop at. “We are excited to see artists coming together to grow together,” states Scott Free, founder of Freestyle Missions.
The Hip Hop Hope Unity Conference and City Takers event will travel through Nashville, Austin, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Alaska, Detroit, Los Angeles, Portland, New York, Oklahoma City and Chicago. It will unite, serve, train, and equip Christian hip hop artists in daytime workshops, then minister to the lost and saved in the evening City Takers services. To register click here.
D-MAUB is one of the main rappers slotted for the City Takers evening service portion of the tour. “I am 100% behind Scott and Tre9 who have been instrumental in directing me towards a more mission-minded mentality. As a result, I’ve seen God bring an increase in opportunities for me to serve and grow,” said the 2011 Kingdom Choice Award Winner.
City Takers services in Atlanta, GA and Hip Hop Hope Tuesdays in Houston, TX have both been around for well over two years, serving faithfully in their communities.
“For us this is more than rapping on the mic. It stretches into feeding the homeless, looking after orphans, mentoring at-risk youth, visiting those in prison, providing toys or school supplies to under-served families, being active in schools with positive assemblies, remodeling homes for the elderly and more. Tre and I have been fortunate enough to establish non-profit organizations that keep us in full time ministry. We want to share that with our fellow brothers who we know have a calling of their own,” Scott Free said.
