Bronx NY, June 12, 2012: – For 19 years, Rap Fest has gathered rappers and DJs for an inspirational free concert.  Family friendly, this event will take place on August 11th from 12 pm to 8 pm in the birthplace of Hip-Hop, the South Bronx. This year’s location is the New Horizons Shopping Center, aka the Pathmark Mall, at 961 E. 174th Street. Attendees can fellowship with the artists, get free giveaways, purchase independent music/clothing and watch break-dancers battle.

Presented by Rap Fest Inc, Sanctuary Fellowship and Calvary Church, Rap Fest uses the elements of Hip-Hop such as dance, fashion, art, etc‚ as evangelistic tools. This year’s performers are: 2 Edge (FL), Big Nick (TX), Big Ran (ATL), David Michael (MI), Freestyle Fam (NY), Fro Wunda (VA), Glamour tha Voice (NY), Gospel Boys (Bahamas), Humble Tip (VA), K.M.Y. (MD), Lil Lala (CA), Malakai tha Truth (NY), M.A. Double (TX), PK (NY), Prodigal Son (FL), Red Dott (MD) Rkitect (FL), SiKc (NJ), Tee Holmes (NY), TRE (Rochester). There will be a host of DJs as well which include DJ NuMan (NY), DJ Tranzformed (NY) and DJ Jamo (UK).

This year’s special guests will be evangelist Nicky Cruz (CO), K Drama (OH) and The Rep (AZ).

Rap Fest is sponsored by: Life Zone TV, God Belongs In My City, Grateful Apparel, The Sanctuary Fellowship, WBLS, Triple Threat Ministries International, I Am UNYC, Mid Bronx Desperados, Holy Culture, 96.7 K Love, Calvary Church, 3HP Promotions, Triple J Audio, Fuel Student Conference, KZ Grafx and Rap Fest’s internet radio program, Rap Fest Radio.  Rap Fest Radio conducts live interviews every Monday night at 8 pm (EST) and will broadcast a live stream of the festival along with Life Zone TV.  The Sanctuary Fellowship will also host a Night Before Rap Fest event at 1010 E. 174th Street at 7:00 PM, which is open to the public featuring guest speaker; Pastor Jacob Burgei (NJ) and musical guests Logos Rhema (NY) and J Cruz Project (NY).

On Saturday, August 4th at 12:00 PM, God Belongs In My City and Rap Fest will host a prayer walk in the community where Rap Fest 2012 will be held. All interested in participating in this walk should meet us at the New Horizons Shopping Center, aka the Pathmark Mall, at 961 E. 174th Street.
