[listen.] Lovegang “Who Is brand New?”

The other day I was going through some of the old music that I wrote and recorded around five years ago. I was shocked and appalled by the foul language I was so blatantly using. It was as if I had no regard for any type of decency in my speech, let alone the way I conducted myself. The Bible says that, “the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart.” (Matt 15:18). The things that were coming from my mouth revealed quite a bit about my heart.

Leonard Ravenhill

Jesus did not come into the world to make bad men good. He came into the world to make dead men live!

Here I am, five years later, disturbed and befuddled about that person who wrote those songs. How could that have been me? That person was so far removed from myself, it’s as if he no longer exists. The Bible goes on to say “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” (Psalm 103:12). I have no memory of the person I used to be, because God erased him from me. It goes on to say, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18). Jesus took on my sin, my unrighteousness, and my unworthiness and traded it all for His perfection, His righteousness and His worthiness. He alone can make a man brand new. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Do you desire to be made brand new? Jesus guarantees a new life, a fresh start and a new beginning- one that is eternal. He can do the same for you as He did for me.

Leonard Ravenhill once said, “Jesus did not come into the world to make bad men good. He came into the world to make dead men live!”

Your new life awaits you, a life rooted in the glorious riches of Jesus Christ. I’m brand new! Are you?
