Philippians 4:9 “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me–practice these things and the God of peace will be with you.” We have been given the philosophy of live and learn but how can you truly live until you have learned?
With the album Student of Life, Shane Kidd desires to convey the need of Jesus Christ in our daily lives and practices. We are to have Him be the role model of how our life looks—not just in what know about Him, but actually living out the gospel and having our lives give Him glory.
The concept album is based upon how our lives relate to school. We are all students learning in this life from someone the world, our friends, the people we admire, and ourselves. With each lesson of life we either accept the teaching and use for our good or reject it and face the consequences.
The title track, Student of Life, conveys the story of shifting from the world’s ideals to learning the abundant life. Shane Kidd rhymes on the track “Now you gotta new fire desiring something finer/ choosing the abundant life now ya major is ya minor/”. What used to be important has now taken a lesser role compared to knowing God but not only in terms of head knowledge but living for Him.
The lead single Hallway Journeys is a track featuring k-Drama that displays the world as the hallways we travel through, and how we must be involved with the people there while not getting consumed by the journey. “Our learning for God is our classroom time are time the world is just a transition and useful to let other know what we’re learning class” says Shane.
“People use school to form the person they are in high school and college. I’ve seen many become different people to feel a heavy need for acceptance amongst their peers.” The song Introspective calls forth people to see our identity in Christ and appreciating it for all it’s worth.
Learn to Live is the theme of the project, know Christ and have Him affect your life from your friendships, witness, relationships, and struggles. John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
The album features Dillon Chase, k-Drama, Sho Baraka and others. The album includes production from Tony Stone, Shaun Sorrells, Teddy P and more.

Deepspace5 is the future. 10 members strong. Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop.
On Thursday, September 17th, just over a week ago, a couple of the DS5 emcees ran across a guerilla style free release by a very talented up and coming producer named Alex Goose. You can learn more about Alex and his work at his website: alexgoose.com. You can download his release by visiting theblueprint3outtakes.com.
With a fierce work ethic and a very small amount of time on their hands, 5 members of Deepspace5 decided to record and release, free to the world, their interpretations, their rhymes over these tracks. The views and concepts in this free mixtape release do not reflect the views of Alex Goose.
If you like what you hear, Deepspace5 has two albums available through itunes.com as well as their entire catalog through BandCamp.com. The crew also has a third studio full length album recorded and mixed, and are poised to make their next move.
We hope you enjoy what we’ve done with these tracks for this mixtape. We’re sure that other artists will release similar mixtapes to this one in the weeks to come. But this, party people, is the Blueprint 3 Outtakes…Deepspace5 Version.

The Tell’em tha Truth MIXTAPE is a serious ministry tool. We have offered the 18 song CD for free and have asked those who are blessed by the mixtape to “DUB” or copy it and give it to others as an outreach ministry tool. The goal of the mixtape is to reach the lost, the unsaved, the unchurched and in general, persons who need to hear the Truth and the Life offered by walking with Christ. For those of you, brothers and sisters, who are saved, get ready this is a head banger and a serious soul stirrer. The Tell’em tha Truth MIXTAPE offers listeners a variety of relevant (lyrical content) over familiar tunes (chart topping tracks) that will encourage and enhance your walk with Christ.
Join us in our plight to get this MIXTAPE to the masses, as it promises to deliver on several things and penetrate several areas:
1. There is a strong ministry that lies within hip hop
2. There is a market for Holy Hip Hop music and this MIXTAPE is one instrument to speak loudly to the gatekeepers; that the music, the lyric, the genre of Holy Hip Hop has the power to reach the masses.
3. Tell’em tha Truth MIXTAPE allows those who are fans of secular music to lend a friendly ear and gather a taste of Holy Hip Hop
XROSS Tell’em tha Truth mixtape is the follow up to Tell’em tha Truth CD, which is in Christian Bookstores such as Family, Lifeway, Berean, Central South & Northwestern Books.
