Born and raised in sunny South Florida, Rodrika Williams, better known as Drika Will, entered the world on August 8th, 1995. At the tender age of 5, she was placed in the performing arts magnet program at Walker Elementary. There is where she began to cultivate her passion for all things arts. She started out in ballet, chorus, and drama. Though she never got any major roles, she still felt this warm fuzzy feeling inside every time she got a chance to perform. She would do anything to be a part of a Christmas show or special event that her school would host. During the summer months when school was out she would be a part of unofficial dance groups at her daycare during summer camp. Emphasis on the unofficial. But it was a way for her to express herself.

During her middle school and most of her high school years, she didn’t make it onto any teams where she could express her creative abilities. But the passion and desire to sing and perform burned intensely in her heart. So she would do karaoke with the on-demand feature and practice singing on her karaoke machine. She would also write music in composition journals and fantasize about a dream career as an artist. In her junior year of high school, she auditioned and made the auxiliary team with the marching band of her alma mater, Deerfield Beach High. There, her band director made it a requirement to either join the chorus when the new school year started or learn an instrument for the summer. If not, they wouldn’t be able to march. By joining the choir, she was able to fulfill so many dreams at the time. Singing solos at football games, pep rallies, school shows, and the biggest one of her high school career, she got to do a solo at her graduation.

In 2014, at the shy age of 18, Rodrika gave her life to Christ. She didn’t grow up in church but she always had a deep longing to know God. She gave her life to Jesus in her bathroom at home one day when this heavy conviction came over her to come to Christ. Several micro-moments led up to that moment. The biggest moment of her life. Following, she spent all of 2014-2020 heavily and actively participating and serving in the church. She was a small group leader, the media team leader for the young adult ministry, and a dancer with the dance ministry. It was during those years that she felt God nudging her heart to get back into music. She had given up on it when she graduated high school due to the lack of knowledge on how to become an artist. She thought it could never happen for her at that point. But in 2016 she decided to stop dreaming about it and began making music. She started with a few SoundCloud releases.

In 2019, she submitted a song to the legacy disciple rap showcase in Chicago. Not expecting anything from it, she placed and landed a spot on the lineup to compete as a finalist. She tied for first place and from there she was inspired to press deeper into her career! During the pandemic, she began releasing singles like ‘Pretty Fades’ which is where she really started to tap into her potential.

Fast forwarding to now, she’s still in the baby stages of her career and is still releasing music. Her heart in all of this is to stand before her Lord and Savior and have Him be pleased with her life. For her to multiply what He has given her and make something great out of it. She wants to hear “Well done my good and faithful servant”. She wants her music to resonate with her audience in such a way that even if they can’t completely relate, they are inspired to do what it is that God has called them to do. Her motto is Drika Can, Drika Will. She wants them to know that if God called them, they can and they will.
