June 15, 2009 — The first of several seminars to be held during the 1st Annual Higher Ground Record Pool (HGRP)/1 Accord DJ Alliance on Sept. 21-22, 2009 have been announced. This event is a milestone which marks the creation of the 1st National DJ Conference for the Faith-based community.
Classes will include:
Music From My Heart-Orchestrating Your Business and Your Life based on the eponymous second book written and led by DJ Ray Mar.
Overview: Ray Martinez aka Ray Mar will touch on topics that will challenge and motivate DJ/Entertainers to get to the heart of how to do business properly and more effectively with time tested principles by dealing with moral-based issues.
Sound – Taking it to the next level / Sound Judgment – How are you treating your sound? Audiotransfusion – The Truth About Audio Conversion led by Tim Gilchrist of IGIT Productions.
Overview: In today’s market the battle between analog verses digital recording and processing is making headlines. In order to compete, your project must be mastered by a professional engineer who understands the benefit of both. Mastering is more than an art; it’s a science that must be skillfully demonstrated.
Traveling and Performing With Recording Artists led by DJ Robbo of Avalanche Music
Overview: Class will cover the technical aspects, ministry duties and responsibilities while experiencing deejaying from the aspect of a traditional musician.

Another giant milestone was achieved this week as the HGRP welcomed aboard the National Association of Mobile Entertainers (N.A.M.E) to their Christian DJ Conference in Sept. As the date draws closer, more and more DJs are registering to attend the 1st “DJ Centered and Industry Based” Christian Conference designed to educate, empower, and mobilize Gospel/Christian DJs while equipping them in grassroots promotions and business stabilization.

HGRP was established in 2001 as an International liaison between Gospel music and its consumer base composed of over 17 million church members. With chapters currently in New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Philadelphia, they have become the first Gospel DJ Pool to report and chart to STS in 2008.
