Radio Host to Label CEO N.I.F.T.Y. Launches Higher Intel Music
Toronto, Canada – May 2011 – Canada’s premier Christian hip-hop recording artist and radio personality, N.I.F.T.Y. and his wife join forces as co-founders of a brand new urban gospel label, Higher Intel Music Group. “Labels today no longer provide the mentorship and artist development they once did.” N.I.F.T.Y. explains; “Being ministers of the gospel, this is needed now more than ever; hence the reason for H.I.M.”
N.I.F.T.Y.’s primary directive: to reinforce and increase Canada’s presence in the Kingdom. As an artist, he has toured extensively across the Continent, performing alongside some of the biggest names in the secular and Christian industry such as Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli, Thousand Foot Krutch, Cross Movement, Grits etc. N.I.F.T.Y. is also a multiple gospel award nominee and winner, having received recognition from major organizations like GMA Canada. As a radio personality, his successful podcast, The Nifty Christian Radio Show continues to be Canada’s most downloaded urban talk show with listeners in over 83 countries worldwide.
With almost 10 years’ experience in the music industry and armed with an ever increasing media platform, Higher Intel Music signs their first recording artist, Tyshan Knight; a 21 year-old Hamilton based gospel singer. “We first met Tyshan in 2009 at a concert and his performance completely blew us away” N.I.F.T.Y. recalls, “When we began playing his music on the show, he was, from week to week, consistently one of the most requested artists. It was then that we knew how special this kid was”. Higher Intel has partnered with Role Model Records’ Eyes on High Tour to feature their dynamic new artist as part of the musical line-up. Tyshan can be seen across Canada this Spring, taking R & P and Praise and Worship to greater heights.

Realizing that not everyone is in need of a record deal, Higher Intel Music places additional focus on creative consulting and other facets of artist development, providing a uniquely tailored, ‘a la carte’ service of sorts to local artists. Higher Intel Music claims the title of executive producer and creative consultant for NevaHurd’s debut album, “Unseen Proof” (which hits stores on June 14 2011).
