GL 360 & Kingdom Time UK Tour

Published on September 9, 2011

GL360, Europe’s premier Urban Gospel Media enterprise, is pleased to announce the next installment of GL Live, ‘The Kingdom Link Tour’. This event is in conjunction with New York based Kingdom Time Ent. and will feature two of their top artists, Gauge & Slave. The headlining UK act are the London-based Urban Gospel foursome Writeway – Tunday, Leke, Presha J & Rhema. Each participating city will feature their own local Urban Gospel artists, this is to rekindle the original ethos of GL Live exposing unknown and upcoming gospel talent on an international platform.

GL Live 8 aims to show a shift in it’s previous blueprint. One of the previous focus points has been to solely accommodate the main UK cities, but it is now also looking to bring Urban Gospel music to smaller, newer crowds within the UK, such as, Nottingham, Lincoln, Reading and cities within Scotland & Wales. The last few years have also focused on the main act coming from the US, now it will see US & UK acts headlining the event; this hasn’t happened since Four Kornerz & J.R. at GL Live v3. The CEO of GL360, Roger Moore, said “For the time is right now that we in the UK & US build up a true partnership which lasts longer than just an event or track feature”.

Dwayne ‘Slave’ Burgess from Bronx, New York has developed a love for rap music and started rapping for fun in local street cyphers, like many Bronx natives. In 1995, he found salvation through Jesus Christ and turned away from a life of alcohol and drug abuse. After signing with Kingdom Time Ent. he has found success with the critically acclaimed group, ‘Blood Coalition’, and his debut solo project ‘Drugs’. Slave has earned quite a reputation on the scene for his high energy, originality, lyricism and his passion for the Lord.

David Veira also known as ‘Gauge’, born in Brooklyn, New York, started his journey as a secular rapper touring the US & Europe after his hit single ‘Cranium’ where he shared stage with the likes of The Fugees, Wu-Tang Clan, Coolio and Chuck D. Since the end of 1999 he became a Christian and took the time to produce the album ‘January First 2000 (The next day)’, alongside Mental Link Inc, which features the track and award winning video ‘Best Friend’. Gauge is now sharing stages with Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin and Hezekiah Walker.

Writeway are boasting over 5 years experience in the UK Urban Gospel scene with visionary of the movement, Tunday, having worked with Awake Records and partnering with MOBO Award Winner, Victizzle. Tunday originally formed the movement with Presha J, a hard hitting MC within Gospel Grime who gained notoriety at Next Ting 140 and other such platforms. Leke later followed and has taken the urban scene by storm with solo hits ‘Closer’ and ‘Air I Breathe’. The lesser known Rhema has shot to the forefront with a number of spitfire freestyle music videos including ‘Take You To the Future Remix’ and ‘Freestyle’ featuring Presha J. Writeway’s debut project ‘One Way’ has been a major success in the UK and features the track ‘Alienated’ whose video has earned critical success amongst peers and fans of Urban Gospel.

After years of working with US acts there has never been a platform for a continuing development of UK and US relations within Urban Music. But after working with Kingdom Time Ent, who was behind Richie Righteous appearing at GL Live 6 and amazing the UK crowds and received quotes like “The best rapper at GL Live, ever!”, the subsequent mixtape ‘Kingdom Link’ which featured UK & US acts and was a major hit on both sides of the Atlantic it is proof that working together as two like-minded organizations a lot can be achieved. The Kingdom Link Tour is the next stage of GL360 & Kingdom Time Ent, working together as a partnership to bring Urban Gospel to the masses.

GL360 is definitely instrumental in helping promote big acts (Both from UK and US) and helping them reach a wider audience.
The GL Live 8 tour will run from 19th-23rd October, with concerts in Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham & Newport, Wales. More details will be announced via the official GL Live website, plus on Facebook and Twitter over the coming weeks
