XIST MUSIC ARTIST SEAN SIMMONDS RELEASES FREE EP
Free Download to Support His Performance on the MOVE Tour and Officially Announces His Change in Style of Music

ATLANTA-On the wake of launching one of the most successful Urban Gospel tours of 2012, Xist Music President, Sean Simmonds switches hats and releases his much anticipated new music, “Long Story Short: The Genesis EP”. This week, the release will be available both online at www.SeanSimmonds.net and on the MOVE Tour via FREE download cards where Simmonds is a featured artist. It is a precursor to the full length CD, “The Genesis” which will release in the 1st quarter of 2013.

The five song EP (Extended Play CD) will also launch the official change in music style for Simmonds. After the release of two CDs, “True Story” and “It’s Over”, the Toronto born producer, singer, writer and arranger will shock fans with a move to the hip hop genre. He says, “I’ve been rapping for a long time, but I guess I always leaned towards my first love, which is singing. I now feel confident and I’m ready to show the world my diversity and effectively cross genres.

Gerard Henry, a founding member of GospelFlava.com and the creator of Bonnerfide Radio  says, “I absolutely loved the energy and passion of Sean Simmonds on the MISFiT Tour. Combining R&B and hip hop stylings, Simmonds’ vocal prowess is limitless and his energy is infectious.”

Simmonds plans to combine both hip hop and R&B to communicate his message of growth, hope and redemption. The lead single, “Fireproof” has already received great momentum. A melodic tale of Sean’s struggles from growing up in a single parent home to dealing with the ups and downs of the music industry, “Fireproof” depicts how he uses the word of God to fight challenges and witness to others.

Sean has spent much of the last few years in his role as the president of Xist Music, where he is also signed as a recording artist. He was responsible for signing the United Kingdom’s hip hop virtuoso, Jahaziel, southern hip hop indie artist, Andalé, and American Midwest indie prodigies, Yaves and NF. His best known artist acquisitions are former Cross Movement Records artists, Da’ T.R.U.T.H. and The Ambassador, which he has also had a heavy hand in overseeing the development of both albums “The Whole Truth” and “Stop the Funeral” as co-producer and executive producer. Both CDs received positive reviews, successfully charting at #2 and #6 on the Billboard Gospel Chart respectfully in addition to garnering a Dove nomination for Da’ T.R.U.T.H.’s “The Whole Truth”.

It is now time for Sean to step out from behind the scenes and move back into working the blueprint of his own music career. T. Black, CEO of Xist Music says, “I’m glad to finally see my brother in Christ do his thing. I’m proud of the work he’s put in as a record executive, but especially as an artist. He deserves everything that’s coming his way.”

You can catch his performance on this Summer’s MOVE Tour also featuring Jai, Da’ T.R.U.T.H., The Ambassador, DJ Mal-Ski, B. Reith and BET’s “Sunday Best” favorite, Jessica Reedy.
