GIRL CODE Compilation Album’s First Single Nonna, Formerly of Da Banggaz, Trades in Her “Run Up Get Done Up” Attitude.

St. Louis, MO—July 23, 2013—From this year’s most anticipated all-female compilation album, GIRL CODE, GRAMMY Award-winner Thi’sl’s Full Ride Music Group releases the first single, One Man Girl.

One Man Girl by Nonna is the perfect anthem for ladies. The song features Latoya Wilson and was produced by Nonna’s husband Steve-T.

“I make music to give people a feeling of great joy,” Nonna said. “ I want my music to touch, impact and give a voice to women. I want to help people find the love of Christ and to love themselves.”

That wasn’t always the case with Nonna, born Cheronna Cornell-Towns, who as the leading lady of Da Banggaz started her career encouraging violence, provocative attire and profanity. ¬ Atlantic Records offered the hip-hop group Da Banggaz a 6-album, 3.5 million dollar deal.

“Life as a female member of Da Banggaz 314 started off as a dream come true. We were in the spotlight, had lots of money, and got free trips around the world. We had St. Louis on lock in the clubs, streets, and on the radio,” Nonna said.
